    Wednesday Evening, 10pm

I broke my rule a little bit. The 9/11 post was long so here’s a quick update my day-to-day shit: This weekend looks perfect. Football (State) on Saturday and hockey (Canes) on Sunday! Next weekend is the Oktoberfest (yes, I know it’s not October- not my decision!). All I have to do is get through the week overflowing with work and class readings. Speaking of work, I’m getting to do more stuff I want to but not getting to drop the other stuff I have to. I haven’t cracked yet but I think the strain is beginning to show. Roommate is in the throes of new-relationship joy with yet another…

    Road Trippin’

As I briefly mentioned in a past post, my office is going through a reorganization. If you’ve never had the pleasure you should try to keep it that way. Since the office is ripe with doubt, frustration and misery I’m quite anxious to be distracted. The new car has distracted me beautifully (oh my god, I got into work early this morning because I couldn’t wait to get up so I could drive my car. I am lame. That’s an actual quote from a friend when I told them that story.) but it can’t last forever. My new distraction is the fact that I’m going to the mountains this weekend!…

    Neighborhood Information

I’ve neglected you, blog. I apologize. Fortunately, since I still have 8 steps to get through, my home search is taking quite a bit longer than anticipated. It’s not that I’m not looking. If you ask my poor, frustrated agent we’ve been out ten times and seen dozens of places. This is an exaggeration, but we have seen a lot. I am picky, but unfortunately I’m also unlucky. I’ve made two offers and both have fallen through for different reasons. But I’ll save those stories for the Make and Offer/Negotiating to Buy sections. I can talk about neighborhood information now though. Since I am single, with no kids and a…

Define Needs for Your New Home

The big challenge on this one is to define the NEEDS vs the WANTS. I don’t need hardwoods or built-in bookcases or a third bedroom. My problem is that I want all these things. Since I’ve jumped ahead a few steps I can tell you that making a list of “wants” rather than “needs” actually isn’t a problem. It’s really very fun! Until you start the house hunt and the realization hit you that not only can you not afford the hardwoods, built-in’s and a third bedroom, you can’t afford ANY of them. Unless you enjoy a three-hour commute. But that’s for the ‘Neighborhood’ post…

    Come to My Windows Vista

If you have any interest in computers you know that Microsoft is planning on releasing it’s new version of Windows- Windows Vista (which, by the way, lame-ass marketing attempt with that name). The real story behind it however, is that it won’t be ready until January 2007 – at the earliest. This is a product more than 5 years in development and long awaited. I am a Windows girl and I am proud to say it. Despite the fact that I am a designer and use Illustrator, Photoshop and Flash, I prefer the intuitive design and functionality of a Windows machine to a Mac. And yea, I do use a…
