I am about to commit the sin I’ve been harassing my friend Y0rii about… not blogging on my blog. So here I am, very inspired after a weekend of travel: STAY RIGHT, PASS LEFTJust do it people! Shhesh! The wagons on the way west did this, why can’t you??! If there is no one ahead in the left lane for you to pass, move over so that all the angry, frustrated people behind you can pass you before we decide running your ass off the road is the better option. We need to remind everyone about this rule. A petition? SPAM? Front page of USA Today? Suggestions? BTW, I’ve completed…

Joy to the World
We sit at the precipice of my favorite time of year.I can’t tell you for sure the day it starts, but one day it’s just here. We have in front of us a good six months of great sports, activities, weather and more and I love the anticipation of all that’s to come… Sports: football, hockey, the best of the baseball (what little there is) and then basketball Activities: fall parties, weddings, vacations, tailgating, band competitions (don’t you judge me!), holidays, Oktoberfest Weather: cooler temperatures with lovely breezes, nice crisp winter air More: Thanksgiving food, Christmas food, fall and winter movies, the leaves turning colors, time with family and friends…

Just Don’t
Girls: tell me if you know this senario: You’re walking down the sidewalk and a guy is coming towards you or maybe across the street and as he comes closer he starts either muttering to you, words you can’t hear but you know aren’t good, or calling out to you. “Hey baby!”, “How you doin’?” “, “You’ve got quite a pair there” and other, less subtle commentary. I don’t know if I know a single girl who hasn’t had this happen to her. To some perhaps it is flattering, but depending on the time of day, your location and yes, the guy, this can be a very unpleasant experience. I…

Two links about MySpace: Creepy… and Useless… And now I will stop doing posts that relate back to work. I am SO lame.

New York, New York
Went to New York this past week. I have been several times now but of course the city is still fascinating (an amusement park for adults). The only difference is that now, as I begin to figure out my way around, and things are familiar, the city becomes more comfortable- which is a strange sort of feeling for NYC. Interestingly, however, I have recently had cause to ponder the (unfortunately) defining moment of the city: 9/11. In my class, we spoke of the “Falling Man”; an article and a series of photos of a man who fell or chose to jump from the North tower on September 11th. This photo…

Twisted
My friends Y0rii and Al host an internet radio show and I was fortunate to be their very first ever guest! I’m honored and deeply touched. Really very touched- they molested me. Check it out here!

Oscar Schmoscar
I know I haven’t written in awhile and it is a sad statement on my life that something as petty as the Academy Awards has driven me from my slumber, but there it is. First of all, I thought Jon Stewart did a great job as a host. He did appear to be nervous at the beginning, and who wouldn’t be, (have you seen the size of the Kodak theatre?) but he certainly got better as the night went on and I heard plenty of people laughing. But according to reports, none of those people were the “stars” and therefore, the word out on the street is Jon Stewart was a…

Redemption
Good article (with a lame-ass title) out of USA Today: Budding Friendships Fill Out the Family Tree. I love my family very, very much, as previous posts will attest. But this is a good time to raise a glass to the ‘friend’. A friend is someone you have met, sought out to spend further time with, and learned much about. It’s quite possible you know more about your friends than most family members. And in turn, these are the people who know you the best, and who are still there after the scary stuff. These people are with you almost every day, many times on days when family cannot be…

the world according to blog
I know that I have just been out of it for awhile, but blogs are everywhere now. It seems like all of a sudden but don’t kid yourself… it’s been building. When almost every major news media webpage has a section of links devoted to “notable” blogs (and do you really want to know what pompous ass hole decides what is “notable”?) you know some kind of virus is eating through the pop culture main stream. What actually amazes me is that it seems not to be a fad. Blogs are such a great idea (obviously, I am a fan) that I never thought that they would completely go away,…

Ruminations on God from Penn
Read “There is no God” by Penn of Penn and Teller. And before you comment, I know that a comedian isn’t the authority on the existence of a higher being. And he isn’t claiming to be. He just happens to have some interesting comments, some of which I agree with.
